Chanki Gadh Fort, also referred to as Chanakya Garh, is a lesser-known yet historically rich fortification located in Chanki village, West Champaran district, Bihar. Nestled amidst natural mounds and village fields, the site offers a unique glimpse into India’s ancient past—steeped in legend, myth, and mystery. Mauryan Connection: Many believe that the fort dates back to the Maurya dynasty (~300 BCE) and was built either for or by Chanakya himself. This gives the site its modern-day name: “Chanakya Garh.”
