Established in January 1998, the Gautam Buddha Central Library serves as the intellectual hub of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow. Named in honor of Lord Gautam Buddha, a symbol of wisdom and peace, the library is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and inclusive knowledge dissemination across disciplines. The library aligns itself with the university’s mission to empower socially disadvantaged communities through education and to promote research, creativity, and critical thinking among students and scholars.

The Gautam Buddha Central Library is housed in a state-of-the-art, four-storied building, spread over 7,917 square meters. It is centrally air-conditioned and provides an aesthetically designed and serene environment that supports focused learning and research.
